About Rosemary: Rosemary is an evergreen perennial herb which belongs to mint family of plants. The name ‘Rosmarinus’ is derived from combination of two Latin words ‘ros’ (meaning dew) and ‘marinus’ (meaning sea). Put together it means ‘dew of the sea’, which means to grow this plant does not require watering and can gather required amount of water from the moisture in the atmosphere. The height of this herb is up to 1.5 meters and its leaves may measure 4 cm in length and 5 mm in breadth.
History of Rosemary: Rosemary is known to be burnt in shrines of Greek God’s to keep the evil away. Keeping twigs of Rosemary under your pillow is also part of belief that it induces goof sleep and keeps the nightmares away. Ancient men were well aware of the therapeutic properties of rosemary as it was being used to strengthen the memory.
